The University Center for the Child and Family (UCCF) will continue to offer a free Parenting Through Separation and Divorce workshop in 2019. The workshops are scheduled for 7-8 p.m. on the first Monday of each month (except January and September). If you’re going through a separation or divorce and would like help navigating the pitfalls and potential minefields — and ensure your children are receiving the support they need — consider attending our free workshop. This program is an approved alternative to the SMILE Program presented by the Friend of the Court.
The workshops are focused on offering practical, actionable advice for couples going through a split. We create a caring and collaborative environment for our attendees as we help parents understand their children’s needs during what is generally a tumultuous time of change and uncertainty. The workshop offers specific suggestions for creating the most beneficial post-divorce parenting relationships. Registration for the event is required.
UCCF provides free childcare for parents attending the event when we have staff available. If childcare is available for a monthly session, it will be offered as an option on the sign up form. Plan to arrive a few minutes early to get your children settled because the workshop will begin promptly at 7 p.m. and late attendees may not be admitted once the workshop begins.
