The Ann Arbor Art Fair will be running from Thursday, July 18 to Sunday, July 21, with set up occurring on Wednesday afternoon and evening. More than 1,200 artists set up throughout the streets of Ann Arbor, attracting more than 500,000 visitors, so parking for MARI clients, visitors, and staff may be difficult from Wednesday to Sunday.
Parking at the East Washington structure (adjacent to our 500 E. Washington office) will be impacted. Instead of hourly rates, there will be a per-entry fee of $15 ($9 after 5 p.m.) The garage usually fills up very quickly during the fairs. Other parking structures will likely be busier than usual and may charge entry fees rather than hourly rates. Parking enforcement will also be increased. Many AATA and U-M campus bus routes will also be affected, due to road closures and fair traffic. Alternately, TheRide is offering a variety of shuttles to bring people to the fairs for a reduced fee. GetDowntown has also assembled an Art Fairs transportation guide to help visitors and commuters find their way.
You can pick up a map of exhibits, including parking and shuttle information at the front desk of our 500 E. Washington office.
We understand that this may present additional challenges in getting to your appointment on time; please plan accordingly or consider scheduling around the fair. We hope you get a chance to visit one of the fairs before or after your appointment or business at MARI.
