Speech Language Pathologists Amanda Sheridan and Kaitlyn Ayres from the University Center for Language and Literacy (UCLL) presented a lecture on developmental play for the class Psych 211: Community Outreach at the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA). The lecture focused on the importance of play in cognitive, linguistic, physical and social/emotional development. Amanda and Kaitlyn also discussed types and stages of play, red flags for delays in play skills, and ways to support play and language development.
The lecture was a success, with more than 100 students in attendance.
