On Friday, November 21, University of Michigan Center of Language and Literacy Director Carol Persad presented at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Persad was one of the presenters at a session entitled “Intensive Comprehensive Aphasia Programs (ICAPS): Illustrative Case Studies.”
The session walked through the intensive model for aphasia treatment and present case studies that compare and contrast program logistics, treatment approaches and outcomes. UCLL’s University of Michigan Aphasia Program (UMAP) is an intensive comprehensive aphasia program and Dr. Persad shared information, experiences and outcomes of the UMAP program.
