UCLL brings Pete the Cat to the Ann Arbor Summer Festival

On June 26, the University Center for Language and Literacy (UCLL) hosted an interactive reading of Pete the Cat: I Love my White Shoes at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival. Children and families that attended the event had a great time singing and dancing along to a reading of the beloved children’s book. There was even a performance by Pete the Cat himself. UCLL staff were on hand to assist as children colored and glued, each creating their very own Pete the Cat to take home. Everyone had a great time playing, dancing, and learning on a beautiful summer evening. Along with their crafts, children were also able to take home stickers, reading logs, and bookmarks to encourage a summer full of reading.

Parents were also able to speak with our experienced professionals and take home information on the services UCLL provides to clients of all ages in our community.

Thank you to all who attended and all who volunteered their time to make this event a success! If you are interested in seeing the event photos, they can be found on UCLL’s Facebook page.
