APA Psychology Internships

The Institute offers APA-accredited, one-year internships at our two outpatient mental health training clinics: the Psychological Clinic for adults and the University Center for the Child and Family (UCCF) for children, teens, and families. Interns can choose from three training tracks (adult, general child, and autism) with a total of 8 positions available annually.

Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellowships

MARI offers Post-Doctoral Fellowships in either adult-focused training at the Psychological Clinic or child and family-focused training at the University Center for the Child and Family (UCCF). Our UCCF Fellows may apply to receive training as a general child clinical fellow or may select a focus on Autism-Spectrum Disorder (ASD) training.

Social Work Internships

MARI offers social work internship positions to welcome social work graduate students who wish to gain experience using clinical skills with a variety of client populations in an outpatient mental health setting. Internships are typically 12 months and social work graduate students should discuss their interest in MARI’s internships with their graduate program.

Post-MSW Internships

MARI offers full-time Post-MSW graduate fellowships at MARI’s Mental Health Clinics, the University Center for the Child and Family and the Psychological Clinic. Fellowships can be 1-2 years and are aimed at enhancing practice competency, professionalism, and leadership skills for limited licensed clinical social workers.

Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship

One year-long Clinical Fellowship position is typically available at UCLL per year. Clinical fellow candidates are clinicians who have completed their graduate training in the field of Speech-Language Pathology.

We host one full-time graduate student intern per semester, in winter/spring, summer, and fall, for 10-14 weeks, depending on their program requirements. Our internships are open to students from Michigan and across the United States.

MARI offers undergraduate internship opportunities each academic year in child and family psychology, adult psychology, and autism spectrum disorder placements, along with volunteering opportunities at our University Center for Language and Literacy.

Practicum Placements

MARI offers a practicum for second to fourth-year clinical psychology doctoral students, providing hands-on experience in areas such as diagnostic assessment and psychotherapy. The training spans 10-15 hours weekly for 8-12 months and includes seminars, supervision, and direct clinical service under the guidance of experienced faculty.
