Clinical Services
Individual therapy
We provide individual therapy services for child and teen clients. Youth therapy services will involve caregivers, although the extent of caregiver involvement will vary based on the client’s age, presenting problems, and treatment goals.
Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
ABA is a specialized evidence-based therapy for helping kids with autism learn and develop skills for everyday life. ABA uses behavioral principles (e.g. skills practice with coaching and reinforcement) to help build social, emotional, and behavioral skills. While ABA may be appropriate for individuals at any age, it is most often used as an early intervention skill to help autistic individuals be their unique and genuine selves while supporting the development of skills that will be used throughout their lives.
Caregiver support and guidance
We provide therapy services focused on caregiver support and guidance to help parents and caregivers of youth struggling with behavioral or mental health challenges. These therapy services can include psychoeducation, guidance around developing and tweaking parenting strategies to support the specific challenges your family is experiencing and support around parental self-care.
Psychiatric Consultations
MARI clients are able to meet with MARI’s psychiatrist to discuss the potential role of psychiatric medications to complement the effects and benefits seen with psychotherapy and self-care strategies (i.e. regular sleep, exercise, meditation, etc.).
Parenting/Caregiver workshops
We offer workshops and groups specifically for parents and caregivers to provide resources and support on various topics, including (but not limited to): parenting through separation and divorce, parenting a child with ADHD, parenting a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), etc. Many of these workshops are offered virtually, to fit into a busy family schedule.
Single-session Parenting Expert Consultations
Our Parenting Expert Consultations give parents access to an expert clinician to provide psychoeducation and identify resources to support their family or to help identify what type of clinical service may be a good fit for their child or family (e.g., parent therapy, individual therapy, testing services). Additionally, families who are interested in therapy, but cannot commit to regular sessions because of lack of resources, time, money, and/or insurance coverage may benefit from this time-limited service model.
Testing services for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Testing services at MARI provide comprehensive psychological assessments across the lifespan, for children, adolescents, and adults. In addition to identifying relevant psychological diagnoses, testing also provides insight into strengths and weaknesses that can help to guide treatment and provide recommendations for skill building as well as for potential educational or work accommodations. Wait times vary depending on specific testing services.
