New Aphasia Zoom Backgrounds Available to Download

General, News, UMAP

The University of Michigan Aphasia Program (UMAP) is excited to share a new digital resource: aphasia zoom backgrounds.

These backgrounds are free to download and use. There are 12 options available and these backgrounds will work for various digital platforms, including Zoom, Google Meet, etc. (Scroll all the way down to see and download the backgrounds.)

These aphasia virtual backgrounds were created to help those with aphasia (and others with communication disorders) communicate in virtual environments. Potential settings for use include: telehealth appointments, virtual book or social clubs, virtual calls with friends and family, workplace virtual meetings and more.

How to Get the Backgrounds

To download, click on an image below and it will open in a new tab/window. Then, right click on the image and select “Save as Image ” to save a copy to your computer.

To add the image to your Zoom account, see: Zoom help on changing backgrounds

NOTE: The backgrounds may appear backward to you if you have “mirroring” turned on in your virtual program settings — however, that is correct and is showing correctly to others.

We also have a guide to using Zoom on our website: Click here to view the aphasia-friendly guide. If you have any suggestions or questions about these backgrounds, please reach out to us via mari.comm@umich.edu.
