Disability Community Month is an annual series of events hosted by Michigan Medicine, University Human Resources, and University Health Services. The goal of the series is to bring awareness of disability topics to our campus and community. All events are free and open to the public. The Disability Community Month Events Flyer has the full schedule of events, which are occurring during the entire month of October. There will be film screenings, panels, art exhibits, workshops, and more! The U-M Council for Disability Concerns and its partners will also be presenting the James T. Neubacher award to an individual or group working toward greater disability rights.
This year, the organizers of Disability Community Month are encouraging you to spread the word! Here are three ways you can contribute:
- Share the Disability Community Month Events Flyer.
- Plan to attend some of the events.
- Invite a colleague or friend to join you at an event.
There is sure to be something for everyone, so we hope to see you at some of these events! If accommodations are needed for any event, contact disability@umich.edu at least 48 hours in advance.
