On March 4, 2020, we’re inviting you to help support aphasia treatment through an event with Kendra Scott. The “Kendra Gives Back” party is hosted by jewelry and home goods retailer Kendra Scott. As part of the program, 20% of the profits from the Ann Arbor store’s sales that day will be donated to the U-M Aphasia Program. The proceeds will help us continue to offer financial assistance for people to access intensive, individualized aphasia therapy — while also helping us spread aphasia awareness far and wide.
The event will run from 5-7 p.m. at the Kendra Scott store in the Arbor Hills shopping center (next to Anthropologie) at 3050 Washtenaw Ave. The event will feature free drinks, sweet snacks, and the launch of a new design. When you make a purchase, let them know you support aphasia therapy and they will donate a portion of their profits from your sale to UMAP.
Not in the area? You can still participate! If you’d like to make a purchase to help support UMAP, you can call in an order at (734) 217-4427. You can browse online at the Kendra Scott website, and call in your order with the name of the item, customizations and colors. Shipping is free. Only orders made through the Ann Arbor store will be eligible for the donation, so be sure to place your order through their phone line (rather than the national number or the website).
Support Aphasia Recovery via Donations
If you’d like to support UMAP without making a purchase, you can do so through the U-M online giving system. Please make sure your donation is going to giving fund #308444, the University Center for Language and Literacy. You can also send in a check or make an over the phone donation.
