Are you passionate about your college or university? Join us for the last Social Hour of this September! This week’s theme is “College Days.” It’s the perfect opportunity for you to showcase some school pride. If you feel drawn to a particular university or have fun college memories, share it with us!

Bring photos or souvenirs of your choice to share with the group.

The College Days social hour is set for 4 p.m. Thursday, September 24 via Zoom. Don’t miss out on celebrating our favorite campuses! We can’t wait to hear all of your stories, no matter what college means to you.

Who Should Attend an Aphasia Social Hour?

The social hours are for anyone in the aphasia community — people with aphasia, care partners and family members, professionals, and students. Click the link below to register. Once you enter your information on the Zoom registration page, you will receive a confirmation email with the link and directions on how to join.

In case you aren’t able to make this one, sign up for the social hour during a following week; they are typically scheduled for 4 p.m. each Thursday, with a different theme to get the conversation flowing.

Sign up for the College Days social hour here: UMAP Social Hour Registration. Registration is free, but is required to access the event. Once you register, you will be automatically sent the log-in details.

What to Expect

Each social hour is typically 40-65 minutes long and includes interaction with others with aphasia as well as carepartners. It’s a great way to stay social and to practice communication skills in a low-pressure setting. The College Days social hour is a free, voluntary social hour and is not therapy or offered in place of therapy. This is a planned series. We will host regular social gatherings, workshops, and Q&A sessions.
