June Aphasia Social Hour – School Days!

Events, News, UCLL, UMAP

This June, join the U-M Aphasia Program (UMAP) for the monthly aphasia social hour! The virtual, online social hour is scheduled for 4 p.m. (Eastern) on Thursday, June 3, 2021 via Zoom.

This month’s theme is school days! Let’s share memories of high school and/or college days! Share some stories and a picture of yourself to show us who you were then. Were you a jokester or a serious student? What were your favorite subjects? Did you have a favorite or most influential teacher? We want to hear all about it! Click here to register.

NOTE: We have switched to once-a-month Aphasia Social Hours.

Aphasia social hours are now set for 4-5 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. The social hours provide a much needed-chance to relate and meet with others in the aphasia community. Building confidence and staying social are some of the best things you can do for yourself and loved ones when aphasia is a part of your life.

What to Expect

Each social hour is typically 45-65 minutes long and includes interaction with others with aphasia as well as care partners. It’s a great way to stay social and to practice communication skills in a low-pressure setting. The social hours are free and voluntary sessions, and are not therapy or offered in place of therapy.
