Do you know a child who may need help with language development? UCLL can help.
The Preschool and Communication Therapy (PACT) program is designed to address the communication needs of children ages 3-4 who are struggling to learn language. We use a combination of group therapy in the classroom setting and individual therapy with a speech-language clinician to build your child’s verbal and nonverbal communication skills. The program includes a pre- and post-assessment of your child’s language skills, pragmatics, and play.
PACT clinicians facilitate play-based, group learning to help develop both social and language skills. Your child will learn to be respectful of values and differences while increasing their reading, writing, and participation skills. We keep the number of participants low in order to ensure quality interactions between clinicians and each child.
You are an integral part of the intervention team and will learn interactive strategies to take into the home environment. Your active participation is important, so a parent or guardian is required to attend the weekly parent education and support meetings.
Children will participate in 2 hours of therapy per day, 4 days per week, for 4 weeks. The upcoming session will run from Monday, July 8, 2019 to Thursday, August 1, 2019.
Please fill out the secure, online PACT Application to begin the registration process. Please call us at (734) 764-8440 if you need assistance or have questions. You can also find more information on our Preschool and Communication Therapy page.
